On March 3rd (the 15th day of the first lunar month), the "Weaving Continues the Craftsmanship, Ma Yues New Journey" commercial district Lantern Festival celebration and the opening ceremony of the Beijing Cotton Textile Museum were held at Lijin Cultural Industrial Park. Through the innovative model of "museum + commercial district + folk customs", the event successfully integrated intangible cultural heritage, historical memories and festival atmosphere, presenting a warm and heartfelt New Year cultural gift to the residents of the area and a wide range of tourists.
In his speech, Li Wei, the Party Secretary of the Qilizhuang Sub-district, stated that the opening of the Beijing Cotton Textile Museum is not only a tribute to the history of cotton textile production in Qilizhuang, but also an outlook on the future cultural development.
The event was divided into two main sections: the opening ceremony and the Lantern Festival Garden Party. At the opening ceremony, Liang Huilan, a representative of the former textile factory workers, affectionately recounted her unforgettable memories with the textile factory. the Golden Shuttle Dance Team performed the dance "Textile Girls", with graceful movements, showcasing the demeanor of the textile workers. Additionally, honorary interpreters and exhibit donors were presented with appointment certificates on the spot， in order to pay tribute to the craftsmanship inheritance.
In the Jingmian Textile Museum in the southern area of the building, 95-year-old veteran textile worker Liu Mancong and other older textile workers served as tour guides, leading visitors through models of textile machinery, historical documents and hand-drawn drawings, and vividly recounting the development history and evolution of traditional techniques of the textile industry in the eighth ring district. The northern area of the building was transformed into a textile culture experience zone. Interactive projects such as textile handheld decorations, hand weaving, hand twisting rods, scarf weaving, and experience of loom operation attracted many citizens to participate. The guessing riddles and winning textile-themed cultural gifts segment brought the atmosphere to a climax.
